DESIGN PRIDE, the most democratic party of the Milan Design Week, is back. The street parade sets the launch of the web page designpride.org, an actual opportunity for young designers to transform their ideas into objects to be sold on YOOX. After the success of last year, DESIGN PRIDE – the street parade dedicated to design promoted by the design brand Seletti and by the NGOs Wunderkammer as well as YOOX, the world’s leading online lifestyle store for fashion, design and art – returns.

The project was developed in collaboration with Gufram, the brand that made radical design famous around the world, Havaianas, the most iconic Brazilian brand, Radio Deejay, and Wallpaper*, the global authority on design and lifestyle. The colorful parade of floats, banners, music and performances will liven up the streets of the city on Wednesday April 5th, 2017: starting from Piazza Castello (corner of Via Minghetti), the procession will cross the 5VIE district and end its route at Piazza Affari with a big final party

Leading the street parade will be students from various universities and design schools from all over the world who will parade with their project “on their shoulders”: The young designers, in fact, will be wearing “capsules”, metaphorical chests containing their ideas. The army of students will be followed by Gufram, who will invade the streets of the city with its irreverent and pop-art spirit, Havaianas, who will march with a colorful and playful wagon, Radio Deejay, who will make the public dance with the Shorty deejay set all along the route and at Piazza Affari, inviting passers- by to join this huge public party, and Wallpaper*, whose fleet of bikes will feature the magazine’s imagery and the slogan, ‘Fewer Walls, More Wallpaper*’.
