Tapestry “Tundra” is created by Russian artists Elena Tkachenko and Galina Domakha in the author's manual weaving technique and embodies three seasons: Spring, Summer and Autumn in one plane. The properties of textiles close to the nature of flowers, mosses and grasses allow to perfectly convey the beauty of the Arctic tundra. The original project occupies more than 50 square meters.

The visual language of the threads is unique in a way that allows you to work simultaneously with both color and texture. The "Tundra" project is a reflection upon the new "Silk Road", which unites the "new nature" born by the artist and the ancient craft. In this man-made tundra the East and West are closely intertwined by the tradition and laboriousness of the technique of oriental carpet weaving on one hand, and the European view of contemporary art, the desire for new ideas and forms of their embodiment on the other.
