UAE Design Stories

Ten Emirati designers will exhibit their latest works and projects during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The exhibition, organized by Dubai Design District (d3), has been curated by Emirati designer Khalid Shafar. The title of the initiative, supported by the UAE Ministry of Culture, is "UAE Design Stories: The Next Generation from The Emirates."

The first exhibition, which will take place in Milan from April 17 to 22, is entitled "Emirati Landscape: Flora, Fauna and Soil". The ten Emirati designers who will participate in the initiative are Alia Mazrooei, Aljoud Lootah, Roudha Alshamsi, Zeinab Alhashemi, Latifa Saeed, Azza Al Qubaisi, Alia bin Omair, Salem Al-Mansoori, Abdalla AlMulla, and Ahmad Al Areef. The second exhibition, entitled "Nomadism: Yesterday & Now," will be held in September during the London Design Festival. The initiative will end with a final exhibition during Dubai Design Week, November 13-19, 2018.

"The Ministry of Culture supports initiatives such as this, aimed at promoting the region's rich and diverse culture internationally, and thus positioning Dubai as a center of culture and creativity."
