GROWTH SITES & THE MILAN PROJECT

Milan Design Week sees three Australian designers, Elliot Bastianon, Damon Moon and Andrew Carvolth, present new work at Galleria Rubin exploring the intersection of art, craft and design. 'GrowthSites' (presenting at Galleria Rubin One) is a collection of furniture that has been invaded by a strange, electric blue crystal growth. Our traditional understanding of furniture and its role as a functional object is being hijacked and subverted by external forces of equal parts geology and chemistry. 'The Milan Project' presenting at Galleria Rubin Two) is an exhibition of contemporary objects by Australian designers Andrew Carvolth and Damon Moon. At the edge of art and design, craft and industry, Carvolth and Moon explore notions of function about materiality through a series of timber and ceramic objects. The curation and visual identity of the exhibition is by BAIB. BAIB is creative design and visual communication studio based in Sydney, Australia.
