Born in the Italian city of Turin, scenario of the impressive Italian contribution in industrial design, Ivan Paradisi rediscovers the art of wood crafting from a totally new perspective. Straight lines and modern inlay take life on different layers and curves cut out of precious wood kinds. Each piece, entirely crafted by hand by Ivan himself is designed bearing in mind the grace of the ancient Italian tradition in cabinetmaking but with a new, sophisticated vision of space. Paradisi is now presenting the new capsule collection MID-COLOR, portrayed by smaller pieces, less decorated and therefor more versatile and more usable. Contemporary look and practices, the renewal of the tools producing never-before seen designs and shapes, so complex that sometimes they seem impossible. A healthy obsession; the expert, yet fallible hand producing results that are little short of technical perfection – because it’s only the little, almost imperceptible errors that tell you something is manmade with its accuracy and uniqueness. A timeless luxury which conveys the current necessity to retrieve the relationship with the substance, the knowledge of the natural element and the grace of doing.
