Massimo Rigaglia was born in Taormina, Sicily and studied Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and at IUAV University of Venice. After collaborating with several studios, including that of Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo, he established his own practice in Milan, where he has lived and worked since 2023.
Rigaglia’s work draws on a visual and conceptual vocabulary developed over time, moving fluidly between design, spatial interventions and experimental pieces, with a particular focus on lighting. His practice is guided by a search for essential forms and grounded in a methodical approach that remains open to evolving challenges. By observing social behaviours and environmental dynamics, he embeds an ethical dimension within his design process.
Whether working within industrial production or artisanal contexts, Rigaglia places process at the centre of his practice. For him, making is not simply a means to an end, but a critical framework through which each project is understood, shaped and brought into being.
