Chiara Grifantini - Atelier of Hand painted Textile

Chiara Grifantini presents Animalier Metallico, a capsule collection of around thirty hand-painted cushions, created using a mixed technique of textile painting and hot-press metallic foil application. Every piece is entirely unique.

The theme is the animal kingdom, not as decorative motif, but as archetype. The animalier pattern becomes armour: scales that protect, gills that breathe, surfaces that catch light like ancient metal. The pleated metallic cushions evoke the interlocking plates of medieval armour, a second skin, precious and defensive.

Nature and myth converge: each cushion carries a reference to the natural world, leopard, serpent, zebra, fish, transfigured into gold, copper and teal. An armour that does not shield us from the world, but carries it within.

The collection is presented as an outdoor installation on the steps of Cavallerizze, one of the most evocative spaces in the 5Vie Art+Design circuit, during Milan Design Week 2026.
